Fly
fishing pack vests are becoming more and more popular.
The reason for this is obvious: they combine the best of both worlds.
Fly fishing pack vests are a great combination of backpacks and
fishing vests.
Here are some of my favorite fly fishing pack vests:
William Joseph Coastal Pack/Vest. Put in the back of this fly fishing
pack vest your hydration bladder and all of your snacks and other
such items. In the front, you can easily store and carry your fly
boxes and other tackle.
Patagonia Pack Vest. This is, perhaps, the most popular fly fishing
pack vest. Why? This pack vest is made with the angler in mind.
It has plenty of pockets for all of your tackle and even loops for
your rod and other gear. If you want to, you can detach the pack
from the vest and use each separately, or you can combine them for
a genuine pack vest. This fly fishing pack vest is cut short so
that an angler can wade tall.
Salomon XA Pro Packvest 200. This pack is not specifically a fly
fishing pack vest, but it can work as one, nonetheless. You can
keep a few of your most important items up front (in the “vest”
section) where they will be readily available. Everything else you
can keep in the pack. It has an excellent distribution of weight
and is a great companion for a backcountry fishing trip. You will
love the hydration bladder.
Orvis Fly Fishing Pack Vest. Carry all of your small items up front
and your large items in back. Orvis makes high quality fishing gear.
